TOGETHER WITH THE WHAT A LAD PODCAST

When a podcast mentions they talk to the biggest names in the world of rugby, you’d expect it to deliver, correct? Standing by his promise to listeners, James Marshall is providing you with player interviews like no one else. James Lowe, Beauden Barrett, and Danny Cipriani are just a few of the high-profile names he has had to date.

Speaking about the player’s careers to date, notable match experiences and behind-the-scenes anecdotes that only James can tease out from the guests he has on. The interviews are exceptionally humbling as he reveals that high-caliber players are just like everybody else. You can expect to hear hilarious stories about fellow teammates and exclusive takes on match-defining decisions.

Personal favorites of mine are the Jamison Gibson-Park & Danny Cipriani episodes. I’ll leave you to decide your own.

If you want the inside scoop on what’s going on with some of the best players in the world of rugby, subscribe to the What A Lad Podcast & YouTube so you don’t miss out on the latest episodes.

Follow the pod on Instagram and Twitter for some very entertaining clips you’ll be sure to share with your mates.

  • A flashback to the Lille post. I was here last week, and in desperate need of a cure, so I grabbed two of their freshly baked baguettes stuffed to the brim and I was in paradise.

  • Very reasonable price-wise and located in central Marseille, so you can head to the pub after to get back on it early if you desire.

  • Highly recommend after your feed here, that you venture up to Basilica of Notre-Dame of La Garde. You cannot miss it when you arrive in Marseille and it’s one of the highest points in the city. Brilliant way to sweat out last night’s boozing and anxiety when it comes to your World Cup match.

  • No better buzz than in these two spots before the match.

  • These two spots sit opposite each other and are awash with fans from all teams. Last week, I was fortunate enough to witness a congo-line on chairs parading the alley splitting these two pubs made up of French, South Africans, and Irish.

  • Relatively long happy hours by French standards and very close to the metro at Vieux Port where you can make your way to the stadium.
