TOGETHER WITH

Rugby on Display - Following the Boks

Huge thanks to @SARugbyMagazine for partnering with us. They provide you with everything you could possibly need when it comes to fixtures, match analysis, and squad updates on all teams, not just South Africa.

Want to read the magazine actually read by the Springboks? Subscribe to their monthly magazine here. It covers all corners of the game, from world cups to school derbies, and offers something rugby for everyone from coaches to young fans.

Check out their recent hilarious conversation with columnist Mark Keohane below. Their Twitter page is a must-follow for all the World Cup updates. There is no other page out there covering South African rugby in as much detail as them. They are in the know.

The Boks will be covering the length and breadth of France during their World Cup campaign. Featuring twice in Marseille, I’ll see you there, whilst tearing up the pitches in Bordeaux and Paris in between.

The quarters, semi’s and final will be held in Paris provided the Boks can navigate their way through tough opposition, mainly Ireland, en route.

Best Places to Stay in Marseille, Bordeaux, & Paris

Marseille

The Old “Vieux” Port - As the saying goes, “You are only young once, but you can stay immature indefinitely”. The Old Port offers a vibrant nightlife accommodating all age groups. Whether you are trying to split the “G” with your friends whilst discussing who would win in a fight, Eddie Jones or a Kangaroo, or trying to set up your stubbornly single friend with a stranger at the bar, you'll have a great time here. Looking for a good opener?Voulez-vous coucher avec moi ce soir?” Thank me later :)

Matches will be hosted at the Stade de Marseille (Orange Velodrome on Google Maps) which is only 20 minutes away from The Old Port. A stark contrast to Lyon and Nice.

Bordeaux

Quinconces - Looking for an incredibly central location that is bustling with sensational, local eateries and bars? Quinconces is just what the doctor ordered. Bordering Bordeaux’s largest park and hugging the Garonne River, there will be no regrets about setting up camp here and soaking up everything the city has to offer.

Matches will be hosted at the Stade de Bordeaux which is only 25 minutes away from Quinconces. If you are staying in the city centre, just board a tram that will take you to the Stade Matmut Atlantique stop and you won’t go astray. Bordeaux is quite a small city so it is easy to get around and the tram is very accessible.

Paris

Republique - Stay here if you can as it is also north of the city centre and very close to many of our recommendations below.

The Stade de France is located on the north side of Paris in Saint-Denis so you can board the RER train from the city centre to the La Plaine - Stade de France stop. It takes roughly 30 minutes to come from central Paris.
