World Cup Series - Lyon

Rugby on Display

As the title alludes to, you can expect to see the venerable All-Blacks tearing up the pitch on two occasions. Playing against the enigmatic Italians and Uruguay, you can expect to see some of that southern hemisphere flair promulgated by the Barrett brothers and sheer ferocity in the form of freight trains in Savea and Retallick.

Other teams on display in Lyon include France, Australia, Namibia, and Wales. Fixtures can be found here.

Best Place to Stay in Lyon

Vieux - Located just to the east of the city centre, this neighbourhood is full of bustling bars and deadly eateries. Whilst you could opt to stay smack bang in the city centre at La Presqu'île, by staying in Vieux you can avoid the tourist traps and people coaxing you into their place for free shots and slamming you with a service charge.

Matches will be hosted at the OL Stadium which is a mother trek from the city by comparison to the other host cities. If you are staying in Vieux or the city centre, hop on the A Metro at Cordeliers to Vaulx-en-Velin La Soie. From here, take the T3 train to Décines Grand Large and you are there.

The trip should take 50 minutes overall so grab a few cans for the train and a bit of soakage at some of the spots recommended below.
