Fast Facts about Edinburgh to Know for Your Matchday
Fringe Festival, the largest arts festival globally, is held in Edinburgh every year.
Edinburgh replaced Scone as the capital of Scotland in 1437. Do you pronounce it “Scone” or “Scawn”?
The national animal of Scotland is a Unicorn. Yes, you read that correctly. As mythical as Scotland’s World Cup prospects.
After an excursion to Sri Lanka, the Highlanders back in the 17th century, returned from their escapades with an elephant. They housed it in Edinburgh castle.

Current URC Standings

Edinburgh had some close calls in terms of results lately. Beating the Dragons 22-17, The Lions 17-16 and coming nail-bitingly close to beating Benetton, losing to the Italians 22-24.
Incredibly exciting to see Ben Healy getting his chance at Edinburgh. The ex-Munster man is hoping to take the no.10 jersey for Scotland. With Blair Kinghorn exiting for Toulouse, Edinburgh will need as much flair and talent they can get in the back line.
Players to watch on the day also include Duhan Van Der Merwe, Emiliano Boffelli, Darcy Graham, Jamie Ritchie and Viliame Mata.

Best Area to Stay in Edinburgh & the Stadium
The artistic centre of the capital that was built in response to the overcrowding in the tourist-rammed Old Town.
Renowned for its magnificent architecture, standout monuments and viewpoints of the city. Calton Hill and the Scott Monument are prime examples.
Accommodation is on the slightly cheaper side by comparison to Old Town so there’s more room in the budget for pints.

If you’ve been to Murraryfield before, you can’t miss Edinburgh’s pitch located directly outside.
Tickets range from £21.50 to £41.50.
Coming from New Town, you can get the tram from Prince Street in the direction of Edinburgh Airport. The tram journey takes 20 minutes, enough time to horse that battered Mars bar you thought would be a great idea or sample and instantly regret buying those cans of Tennents.

Best Breakfast & Coffee in Edinburgh for Before and After the Match
Scran - North Bridge
A beloved Edinburgh establishment with three locations across the city.
Highly recommend booking a table here as the queues outside represent Scran’s popularity with locals and visitors.
We love to see a place that does healthy portions for a reasonable price. It’s perfect pre-matchday grub in my view. With particular reference to their Scottish breakfast.
Edinburgh Larder - Blackfriars St
Set up all the way back in 2009 with the aim of bringing exquisite local and seasonal produce to the fore.
Tucked away just off the Royal Mile, you’ll met by the team’s welcoming staff to indulge in their award-winning dishes.
You’ll find local players making a pit stop in here on their days off, likely hounding down the full breakfasts and buttery baps on offer.
Other recommendations
The Milkman - Whether you're a coffee lover or not, the team is here to provide you with a great cup of coffee before your match. They prioritize quality and have three convenient locations throughout the city, ensuring you're never too far from great coffee.
Union Brew Lab - Classed as the best coffee in Edinburgh by TimeOut Magazine, and using hand-roasted coffee, it appears to be the perfect accompaniment to a battered Mars bar from The Clamshell.
