Fast Facts about Gloucester to Know for Your Matchday
Gloucester fans didn’t always cheer for the Cherry and Whites. The teams former unofficial name was said to be the “Elver Eaters”. The name derived from the annual eel-eating competition held in Gloucester.
Whilst they may not have played any rugby in Harry Potter, I reckon Harry would have made a mean out-half, Gloucester Cathedral played host to a number of scenes for the wizardry franchise. Chocolate frog anyone?
Magnum, Twister and Iceburger. All are made in Gloucester at the Wall’s/HB ice cream factory, the largest ice-cream factory in Europe.
Gloucester have two Champions Cup titles to their name. The side claimed victories during the 2005-2006 and 2014-2015 seasons.

Best Area to Stay in Gloucester & the Stadium
Stay at the UK’s most inland port.
Only a stones throw away from the city, picturesque view of the docks and in close proximity to the city’s best pubs and eateries.

It’s always nice to not see a stadium dropped in the middle of nowhere, as the Kingsholm is located just north of the city-centre
If you are coming from The Docks, it only takes a matter of 20 minutes to walk to the stadium. You pass by the cathedral en route so you may need to grab some potions from the Gryffindor Common room to reverse Gloucester’s form. A taxi would be approximately a 5-minute journey dependent upon traffic.
