Fast Facts About Bath to Know for Your Matchday

  • The city of Bath was founded by the Romans and was originally used as a thermal spa.

  • Coronation ceremonies originated in Bath. The first being Edgar of England who was crowned King in Bath Abbey in 973.

  • Do you use stamps anymore? The world’s first ever stamped letter was posted from Bath in 1840. It features a profile of Queen Victoria with a black background. This place is fair royal.

Current Premiership Standings

  • Bath are certainly coming to the fore this season. They currently sit 3rd in the Premiership and sit 2nd in their Investec Champions Cup pool.

  • The results will likely be driven by their key performer in Finn Russell (to justify possibly the largest salary in the entire premiership). Fueling himself strictly on Irn Bru and battered Mars bars. I like to think of him as the Scottish Jamie Vardy.

  • Players to keep an eye on the day include Alfie Barbeary, Joe Cockanasinga, Ollie Lawrence and Cameron Redpath.

  • You can find last week’s highlights below:

  • Colonna Coffee - Ranked 42nd in the top coffee shops in the UK. If you’re like me, and know sod all about coffee, this is one of those places you’ll come out of and just know the coffee is better than most other places.

Is your destination not covered?

Heading on a stag, hen or venturing on an away day? You probably encounter the following:

  1. Your friends leave everything until last minute.

  2. They rely on one person to pick what the entire group is doing and where you are going.

  3. If a place is rubbish, your friends turn to you and never let you forget that woefully bad place you took them.

Well, look no further. If you want an itinerary that is based on prior groups’ memorable experiences and local recommendations, just reply to this email.
