Fast Facts About Llanelli to Know for Your Matchday
Prior to the banishment of the towns prior Anglican name of "Llanelly”, the town was previously called “Tinopolis” due to its significant role in tin production.
Locals of Llanelli are often referred to as “Turks” from other towns in Wales. The nickname apparently originated from when a Turkish ship docked in Llanelli for works and the Swansea dockers referred to their neighbours as Turks.

Despite their unanimous victory against rivals Cardiff in December last year, Scarlets have been without a victory ever since. However, a visit to Llanelli is well warranted if you want a true taste of Welsh heritage.
