Fast Facts About La Rochelle to Know for Your Matchday

  • La Rochelle were promoted from Pro D2 to the Top 14 in 2014. Uini Atonio and Levani Botia are two names who have stuck with the team since.

  • The Marina in La Rochelle boasts more than 4,800 moorings for boats. Making it one of the largest marinas globally.

  • In 1864, the Marina was the site for the very first dive experiments for the mechanically-powered submarine. During World War II, the Germans established a submarine naval base here. Some of the large submarine pens are still visible today.

Current Top 14 Standings

  • Leinster got their revenge this year with an emphatic 40-13 victory against the side, ending the team’s hopes of a 3rd Champions Cup title in a row.

  • Unless Bordeaux and Toulon have a rotten run of games over the course of the next few weeks, it seems unlikely that La Rochelle can compete for any silverware this year. Given that Toulouse are the only team still in contention for the Champions Cup, both Bordeaux and Toulon will be at full strength to vie to for the Top 14 title.

  • Players to keep an eye on the day include Aldritt, Atonio, Botia, Danty, Dulin, Hastoy, Kerr-Barlow, Nowell, Rhule, Skelton and Thomas.

  • Exquisite spot to grab a quick bagel and bring with you en-route to the Marcel De Flandre.

  • They pride themselves on using the freshest of ingredients and offer a wide variety of toppings and combinations to make your decision that much easier.

Is your destination not covered?

Heading on a stag, hen or venturing on an away day? You probably encounter the following:

  1. Your friends leave everything until last minute.

  2. They rely on one person to pick what the entire group is doing and where you are going.

  3. If a place is rubbish, your friends turn to you and never let you forget that woefully bad place you took them.

Well, look no further. If you want an itinerary that is based on prior groups’ memorable experiences and local recommendations, just reply to this email.
