Fast Facts About Clermont to Know for Your Matchday
The region is surrounded by a 40 km-long chain of 80 dormant volcanoes. The 13th-century central cathedral is even made out of the volcanic rock.
The tyre company, Michelin, is headquartered in Clermont. The company also releases a prestigious list of restaurants that are added to the Michelin Guide.
Why would a tire manufacturer diversify into restaurant reviews? In order to help motorists develop their trips - thereby boosting car sales and in turn, tyre purchases - the Michelin brothers produced a small guide filled with handy information for travellers- a listing of places to eat or take shelter for the night.

Best Area to Stay in Clermont & the Stadium
Fontgieve/North City Centre
This area offers you the best of both worlds. You are only a 15-minute walk to central Clermont and just 3 KM from the stadium.
Whilst the area isn’t expensive, you can find even cheaper alternatives in the Blatin area. This is where the majority of Clermont’s student population resides so expect late-night parties and cheap booze.

Originally constructed in 1911, over the past 10 years, the club has pumped €30 million in to the stadium to keep pace with fans’ demands.
It has capacity for 19,000 fans and the tickets range from €20 - €70.
From Fontgieve, it takes only 15 minutes via the tram and is a 40-minute walk.

Best Breakfast & Coffee in Clermont for Before and After the Match
You - 18 Av. des États Unis
Received strong recommendations for You, yes You, to head here for that pre-match, meal followed by a few pints down the road.
The food is predominantly savoury with lashings of burgers, eggs benedict and grilled cheeses. However, they also offer sweet items in form of pancakes if you have your kids with you or that picky eater in the group can’t decide.
If you can’t grab a seat in here, try L’Inckline for some killer coffee.
Boulangerie Feuillette - 44 Boulevard Léon
Part of the very successful network of Feuillette bakeries across the entirety of France. It’s open 7 days a week and constantly baking throughout the course of the day to feed hungry customers.
They boast these phenomenal displays of the products that you could race your friends up and down. Pastries, tarts and freshly baked baguettes filled with meats, cheese and salad.
Is your destination not covered?
Heading on a stag, hen or venturing on an away day? You probably encounter the following:
Your friends leave everything until last minute.
They rely on one person to pick what the entire group is doing and where you are going.
If a place is rubbish, your friends turn to you and never let you forget that woefully bad place you took them.
