Fixtures - Week 4

  • Italy vs Scotland - Outside of French fans, I think everyone was wishing Italy slotted that last minute-kick to record their first victory against France six 2013. Scotland’s display against England shows they are a force to be reckoned with. I think Scotland will take this.

  • England vs Ireland - Irish fans lick their lips at this fixture every year. England have not had a stellar performance in this years tournament. Beating Italy and Wales by no more than 3 points and losing to Scotland. Ireland had a shaky performance against Wales last week. However, I wouldn’t like to have been in that Monday review meeting so I think Ireland will come away with this one.

  • Wales vs France - Sorry Welsh fans, but the wooden spoon is looking likely. It would be the first time since 2003. France’s draw against Italy doesn’t paint the squad nor coaches in a great light so who knows?

Rome - Italy vs Scotland

Best Places for Breakfast, Dinner and Drinks in Rome

Pasticceria Barberini - Via Marmorata

  • Italians do breakfast a little bit differently. Typically you would get a coffee and a sweet pastry.

  • Nestled in the lively Testaccio neighbourhood, you will find a cafe that has been around since 1925. Baking their pastries on-site, order cappuccino with a cornetto for the perfect Roman breakfast.

  • Grab some other treats for kick-off later.

Pasticceria Linari - Via Nicola Zabaglia

  • A sister-run bakery that has been in operation since 1971.

  • Along with Barberini above, Linari is one of the few Roman bakeries still making all of their pastries on-site.

  • A firm favourite amongst the locals of Testaccio for the last 50 years.

La Tavernaccia da Bruno - Via Giovanni da Castel Bolognese

  • The atmosphere in here will be as electric as the Stadio Olimpico. Big tables full of Italian families.

  • They serve all of the Roman classics in here but I would recommend the pasta alla gricia. The team here use only the highest quality products and their wine list is impeccable.

The Highlander - Vicolo di S. Biagio

  • If anyone knows of a more fitting place for Scottish fans in Rome this weekend, please let us know.

  • A Scottish pub located in the heart of the Italian capital and it is unreal craic in here.

  • Scholars Lounge is another thriving spot in central Rome. This place gets very busy at the weekends and has a large projector screen showing live sport.
